Jesus Christ Superstar

Random pictures I inadvertantly took from my phone while performing a medley from Jesus Christ Superstar for my husband. It was SRO. All the angels of God were there.
Riotous Frolicking at the Community Center

Why do I have such an unamused look on my face? Well, I think it had something to do with the plaid shirt on the chair behind me. I have issues. Things progressively picked on the way to the Rogue River Community Center and it was Evadine’s night.

This is not Evadine.

This is. Evadine and Daisy. Wearing the 1911 costume I made for her for the Rogue River Civic Improvement Club 100th Anniversary.
I am all for civic improvement…whew…we sure need alot of it.

Shawn and I at the Community Center after a delicious fare of corned beef and cabbage.

back of the head OR because of the angels

i thought the hair was good
I Corinthians 11:10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given to her for a covering.

How many of you trendsetters out there realize that the whole “trend” thing and “vogue” thing is based on sailing vocabulary?
The etymomlogy of the word vogue is as follows from Webster’s Third New International Dictionary: it is from the Middle French, action of rowing, course, fashion, vogue. It goes on to say that from Old Italian voga, from the verb vogare, to row, sail: which is akin to Old Spanish bogar, to sail. Suffice it to say that sailing was very much a part of the reason for fashion on a couple of different levels: new fashions were brought from different shores and slightly more suspiciously and conspicuously, girls in every harbor prized a sailor shirt which was a sailor‘s shirt after all. This may have been looked on askance by the betters in the community because I dare mention there is only one way for a girl to get a sailor’s shirt from off his back. . ahem
A preview of a recent project of mine that will be available in my Etsy shop soon.
White button down skirt with giant pea coat buttons and I’m thinking about making a sailor / pea coat short jacket to match.
same shoes, different day OR three core beliefs

This is what a monkey face looks like when the keys get locked in the car a half an hour before my piano lesson.
But this gives me a great opportunity to share a few of my core beliefs.
#1. Just because you’re cold doesn’t mean you’re gonna freeze.
Just because you’re hungry doesn’t mean you’re gonna starve.
Just because you’re in pain doesn’t mean you’re gonna die.
#2. Life is filled with bitter disappointment, tragedy, and betrayal but it doesn’t have to ruin your day.
#3. Everything is hard. The simpler it seems, the harder it is.

YELLOW LIKE THE SUN which is shining directly into my eyes, LIKE DAFFODILS, LIKE MUSTARD?
I am wearing a jaune jacket that I made about, oh I don’t know, a long time ago. It has a beautiful assymetrical collar fastened by a big bold graphic brown wooden button. This article has been in the designer’s closet for a while and I am unhanding it. It will be for sale on my Etsy shop for $225.00 for the jacket and skirt.
